Mission of your work team

The mission of the Direction of Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling (D3R) is, on the one hand, within the perspective of extended producer responsibility and circular economy, to ensure the valorization of residual materials through various means, including reduction at the source, reuse, or recycling.

On the other hand, it aims to adequately valorize these materials that could not be reused or recycled, and, when this valorization is not possible, it ensures secure disposal in accordance with the highest standards.

Here’s what your daily job would look like

• Synthesize study reports to create summary sheets: analyze information to extract the main findings, key data, issues, and other relevant elements to present them in a uniform format. These sheets aim to make the information contained in the reports more accessible;
• Document, through research, various products to draw inspiration from best practices and poor practices elsewhere regarding the regulation of certain plastic products and recycled content;
• Participate in the preparation of a regulatory project: collaborate with the team on consultations with stakeholders.

Compensation: Minimum hourly rate of $27.19. A 6.5% surcharge is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits.

Remote work: Hybrid mode (remote and in-person) according to agreed-upon orientations

Expected start date: September 2026, for the fall session

Conditions for holding a student job

• Be enrolled in full-time studies at the undergraduate or graduate level for the fall 2026 session at an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education OR be enrolled in part-time studies at the penultimate or final session of this program, in one of the following fields of study:
• + Environment
• + Any other field deemed relevant for the job
• Be authorized to work in Canada;
• Have appropriate French language skills for the job's responsibilities.

More specifically, we are looking for a motivated student, eager to learn, and who demonstrates:

• Autonomy (but will have the support of colleagues)
• Synthesis and analysis skills
• An interest in waste management, particularly plastic waste
