  • The Company:

In 1956, the French company Neyrpic opened one of the first private hydraulic laboratories in North America in Lasalle (Montreal). Initially known as Laboratoire d’hydraulique LaSalle and then Groupe-Conseil LaSalle, Lasalle|NHC has played a key role in all major hydraulic projects built in Quebec over the past sixty years, such as the Saint Lawrence Seaway, the artificial islands of Expo 67, Hydro-Québec’s hydroelectric projects, and the water treatment plants of the City of Montreal.

Our merger in 2014 with the firm Northwest Hydraulic Consultants (NHC) (www.nhcweb.com) gave birth to the largest network of hydraulic laboratories and water resources specialists in America, with offices in Canada, the United States, and Brazil.

Owned entirely by their employees, Lasalle|NHC and NHC employ nearly 300 engineers, scientists, and technicians specializing in hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources. In an era where company consolidation is the norm, our experts are clearly able to offer specialized services that have no equivalent in general engineering consulting firms.

The services offered by Lasalle|NHC take the form of expertise, modeling work (digital or physical), or field surveys and cover riverine and coastal hydraulics, hydrology, optimization of hydraulic structures, water resource management, urban network analysis, rivers in the presence of ice, and atmospheric environment studies. Adaptation to climate change is an important component of all these works.

Lasalle|NHC’s clientele includes a wide range of public or government institutions, private companies, and large engineering consulting firms, both in Canada and internationally.
