In collaboration with the Director of Data and Analytics Solutions, the Data Architect defines, evolves, and maintains the target architecture of data and business intelligence solutions. They design modern, scalable, and AI-ready architectures while ensuring data consistency, governance, and value across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define, document, and evolve data architectures (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Lakehouse) and BI solutions on modern cloud platforms.
  • Design high-performance and scalable data models (dimensional, Data Vault 2.0, and BI semantic layers).
  • Ensure data integration and consistency from multiple enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, CRS, DCS, and other airline industry systems.
  • Establish standards for data modeling, integration, transformation, quality, cataloging, lineage, and governance.
  • Design "AI-ready" architectures that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI solutions.
  • Promote the adoption of DataOps, DevOps, and CI/CD practices, including automation of testing, deployment, and monitoring of data pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, data engineering, business intelligence teams, and business partners to align data strategy with organizational goals.
  • Conduct continuous technology watch and recommend directions and innovations to optimize data management and value.

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture and over 12 years of experience in information technology.
  • Recognized expertise in data modeling, Data Warehouse, Data Vault 2.0, Lakehouse, Data Mesh, governance, quality, and data security.
  • Strong communication, leadership, influence, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, language models (LLM), and generative AI concepts applied to business data.
  • Experience with data streaming technologies, enterprise data catalogs, and cloud cost optimization. Certifications such as SnowPro Advanced Architect are a plus.
  • Excellent proficiency in Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, BigQuery, Power BI, DBT, SQL, and Python, with demonstrated ease in cloud environments, collaborative digital tools, and AI (e.g., Copilot). Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, both spoken and written.

A good command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The person in the role will need to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
