Your role
Under the responsibility of the deputy director – installation, you will be in charge of managing and implementing various installation projects. Alone or in a team, you will install multiple electrical equipment on ships and may be called upon to intervene on occasional service calls.
Your responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical plans.
- Install electrical and electronic systems on ships in accordance with current standards.
- Perform the mechanical installation of components, including enclosures, cable paths, and supports.
- Open and close transits (hatches).
- Pull and install power and control cables.
- Cable pre-assembled control panels in the workshop.
- Validate and test the operation of installed equipment.
- Diagnose and solve problems affecting the proper functioning of installations.
- Write diagnostic, evaluation, and repair reports following interventions.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures at all times.
- Identify and report risks on the job site.
- Propose and implement corrective measures to prevent incidents.
- Your profile
Education and experience
- DEP in electricity or electromechanics, DEC in electrical engineering, or equivalent training.
- Any relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience in the electrical or electronic field (asset).
- Knowledge of the maritime sector (asset).
Technical skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Prerequisites
- Valid driver's license for travel to job sites;
- Intermediate French and English proficiency (oral and written), to collaborate with English-speaking clients.
