KPMG is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Cloud Solutions Architect to lead highly prioritized initiatives on the Microsoft Azure platform. The successful candidate will understand the challenges associated with application modernization and provide secure, reliable, scalable, and easy-to-access cloud-native design and architecture solutions.

They will also assist the Tax Function's Application Team in deploying applications and formulating recommendations on how to transition from Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). To succeed in this role, they must have strong experience in architecture and implementation of solutions primarily using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) on the Azure platform, master DevOps tools, excel in communication, and be results-oriented.

What You Will Do

  • Assume responsibility for the cloud-native architecture of next-generation products and applications
  • Collaborate with KPMG International's OnePlatform Architects and Canadian teams responsible for cloud architecture, operations, and security to design, deploy, and maintain KPMG Canada's cloud solutions
  • Collaborate with the Tax Function's Application Team and OnePlatform's Tax Team to implement, support, and manage KPMG's tax applications (IaaS, PaaS, and Software-as-a-Service [SaaS]). Provide advice and insights on application from an infrastructure perspective to leverage native cloud services
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define cloud architecture standards and best practices by providing recommendations and overseeing team members
  • Be well-versed in KPMG's digital strategy, cloud platform capabilities, IT and operational priorities, and design, architecture, and implementation success criteria for solutions
  • Ensure the deployed solution delivers excellent results in terms of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability potential, and reliability
  • Establish strong relationships with key IT decision-makers to gain long-term user buy-in and demonstrate the benefits of cloud transformation

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or STEM field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least three years of experience in solution architecture on major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Microsoft (required) Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
  • Experience in transforming IaaS-based applications into PaaS services, as well as designing and configuring secure and scalable cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure, including account structure, security and compliance, connectivity, shared services, etc.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure as code
  • Experience in architecture, including implementation and maintenance of Azure service platform components, Databricks, Data factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, AI\ML, advanced analytics, and Kubernetes service
  • Knowledge and experience in developing APIs and Webhooks using PowerShell, Python, Node.js, Ruby, and Shell Scripting languages
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems, such as Azure DevOps server and services and Github
  • Experience in cloud automation using Azure CLI, ARM, and Terraform to enable IaC, AWS CLI and CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud operating systems, including OpenStack, OpenShift, Windows, Linux, and vSphere
  • Proven experience in system integration, design, and implementation of infrastructure services, and deployment of platform services
  • Ability to work with DevSecOps and systems engineering teams at a fast pace, within Agile Scrum processes
  • Experience with AI agents, including designing, implementing, and optimizing agent-based solutions to support automation, decision-making, and operational process improvement
  • Knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its application to enable secure and contextual communication between AI systems, enterprise platforms, and data sources
  • Ability to align AI agent capabilities and MCP with enterprise governance, scalability, and operational requirements in complex technological environments

This position requires proficiency in both written and spoken English. The successful candidate will need to support colleagues or stakeholders in other provinces or collaborate with them.

Salary Range – British Columbia

The base salary range for this position is $104,400 to $154,400, and bonuses may apply. A candidate's or candidate's compensation is determined based on their location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to compensation, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits program.
