General Information

Do you have expertise in law or contract and intellectual property writing? This position will allow you to contribute to the advancement of research by supporting professors. Welcome to our Research, Innovation and Creation Support Service team!

In collaboration with the Research Contract Management Section, the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Advisor supports and accompanies the university community in the implementation of research agreements and the intellectual property that follows.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Provide advisory services to the university community on intellectual property management, research partnerships, and invention declaration preparation.
  • Prepare various research partnership agreements with companies and organizations, negotiate them, and ensure their follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance of agreements with the University's regulations and policies and applicable laws.
  • Write, negotiate, and advise professors on the preparation of agreements related to their research.
  • Prepare and offer training to the university community on research-related agreements and intellectual property management at the University of Sherbrooke.
  • Analyze invention declarations submitted by professors and inform them of the associated processes.
  • Collaborate with support staff in your sector to obtain the required internal approvals and follow-up on files.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor.

  • Full-time replacement contract, 35 hours per week for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

  • Possess excellent knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge or mastery of English is required, as the person will have to interact with various international organizations or partners.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Show skills in establishing and maintaining good interpersonal relationships.
  • Show skills in establishing and maintaining a client-oriented and advisory role.
  • Be comfortable working on multiple files simultaneously.
