What we are looking for
Reporting to the Global Head of Human Resources (CHRO), the Chief Executive Officer, Human Resources and Talent Development Business Partner will act as a strategic HR partner and trusted advisor to members of the executive team. This person will play a key role in translating business priorities into integrated talent management solutions to support organizational performance, engagement, culture, and long-term resilience.
To this end, they will collaborate closely with business leaders to anticipate opportunities and challenges related to human capital, while ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and the values of Fiera Capital.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative HR leader, business-oriented, recognized for their judgment, advisory approach, and ability to pragmatically resolve complex organizational challenges. As a member of the HR team, this person will also contribute to the design and deployment of initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership effectiveness and talent development across the organization.
Your responsibilities
- Act as a strategic HR business partner and trusted advisor to members of the executive team, ensuring that talent, culture, engagement, and organizational health issues are integrated into strategic and operational decisions.
- Develop a deep understanding of the client groups under your responsibility in Canada and the United States, including their business plans, objectives, operational environment, organizational structure, and talent priorities, to transform their needs into concrete and integrated HR solutions.
- Advise leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, team effectiveness, and change management, including identifying and mitigating human capital risks.
- Guide and influence managers and leaders on workplace relations, engagement, performance management, and team dynamics, ensuring that decisions respect the company's values and applicable legal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with HR centers of expertise (COE), including global compensation and talent acquisition teams, to implement solutions that foster attraction, retention, engagement, and organizational performance.
- Lead and contribute to the deployment of HR programs within the client groups under your responsibility, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder alignment, and successful adoption of initiatives.
- In collaboration with the CHRO, develop and drive the strategy, design, and implementation of talent development initiatives, including succession planning, leadership development programs, individual contributor workshops, and coaching and mentoring programs.
- Leverage engagement data, HR metrics, and field observations to identify trends, formulate recommendations, and guide tomorrow's HR strategies.
- Embrace and promote behaviors that foster a high-performance culture, including accountability, critical thinking, inclusion, collaboration, and shared responsibility for results.
- Lead, coach, and develop your team members (2 direct reports), enhancing their advisory skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to act as trusted partners between business teams and human resources.
Requirements to succeed in this role
- University degree in a relevant field such as human resources, industrial relations, business administration, finance, or any other related discipline.
- Professional designation in human resources (CRHA, CRIA, CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent), a significant asset.
- Minimum of 12 to 15 years of progressive human resources experience, including significant experience in a business partner HR or strategic HR advisor role.
- Demonstrated experience working with executives, senior leadership, and managers in a complex, dynamic, and multi-stakeholder environment.
- Excellent understanding of business and human resources issues, with the ability to link HR strategies to organizational priorities and provide pragmatic, balanced, and value-aligned recommendations.
- Recognized experience in organizational design, change management, workforce planning, workplace relations, performance management, employee engagement, and talent development.
- Strong skills in coaching, influencing, facilitating, and stakeholder management, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous context, exercise excellent judgment, manage delicate situations, and advise leaders on complex human issues.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver initiatives on time and with a high level of quality.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in French and English, with the ability to adapt messages to different audiences.
- Experience in the financial services or asset management sector is a significant asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian employment and labor laws, particularly in Quebec and Ontario; knowledge of U.S. practices and legislation is an asset.
