As the Manager of the Shipping and Receiving Department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the department and contributing to the company's objectives by handling, maintaining, storing, and distributing goods to ensure customer service standards are met, enabling sales and store profitability. The Manager of the Shipping and Receiving Department will maintain an efficient flow of goods from the receiving door to the sales floor while ensuring a high level of inventory integrity.

  • Process all required documents and maintain adequate files for reporting and tracking. Ensure that appropriate receiving standards are met in accordance with standard operating procedures. Ensure that appropriate procedures are followed for shortages and surpluses.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with GT audits for everything related to shipping and receiving functions. Be able to complete the personal audit portion that applies to your role. Identify areas of opportunity and the action plan with the executive team.
  • Organize the warehouse, assemble and display pre-packaged items. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Complete planogram adjustments and ensure that the display is presented according to operational standards.
  • Assist in the proper execution of merchandising to maximize sales, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide support in the development of sales floor standards, visual merchandising, customer service standards, and sales techniques.
  • Manage product transfers to other stores, incoming and outgoing.
  • Monitor shipments and verify shipping receipts as needed.
  • Ensure responsibility for completing the inventory cycle and adhering to the inventory cycle schedule of the Store Support Center.
  • Ensure responsibility for vendor returns and vendor return tracking.
  • Monitor special orders.
  • Ensure that the available actual inventory is received accurately and matches the inventory in the inventory management system. Manage any negative inventory discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory in the inventory management system.
  • Support the company as needed, which may include filling in for the Director on an as-needed basis or assisting the customer service or sales departments.
  • Set prices and label incoming products with great attention to detail.
  • Assist with inventory adjustments and price changes.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma and computer skills are preferred.
  • One to three years of relevant experience in the retail sales field.
  • One to three years of experience in the receiving field is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and file management skills.
  • Ability to lift repetitive loads, ability to display according to operational standards, and ability to maintain the store's stocking capacity. Ability to lift, bend, and carry objects (20-25 lb) continuously.
  • Ability to use necessary equipment (e.g., pallet jack).
  • Be motivated and have the ability to work autonomously.
  • Wear safety shoes.

Working Hours
