What you will accomplish with us

As an underwriter, you will be at the heart of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

• Assess risk on individual life insurance, critical illness, and disability claims to establish a fair, appropriate, and competitive selection
• Analyze medical and non-medical information to identify any potential risk or issue
• Use pricing guidelines and procedures to make informed pricing decisions
• Ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines in completing tasks and pricing processes
• Communicate with stakeholders to obtain additional information or clarify questions related to pricing decisions

• We are looking for a person who:
• Is recognized for their analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Is customer-focused and adopts a holistic approach in the overall risk assessment
• Holds a college or university degree in health sciences or a related field
• Holds or is working towards the FLMI or LOMA title
• Has a minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting in the life insurance, critical illness, and disability fields
• Has advanced knowledge of the English language since the person will be required to analyze information, consult and read reports and documentation, write emails, and communicate with unilingual English-speaking clients and external partners on a daily basis.
