Work at CBC/Radio-Canada
At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains, and brings Canadians together across multiple platforms. Promoting and embodying values such as creativity, integrity, inclusion, and relevance are what drive our achievements.
Do you think you have what it takes to succeed in this exciting and ever-evolving environment? Whether in front of the camera, on-air, online, or behind the scenes, you would be part of a team that thrives in connecting with the Canadian public and telling stories that matter to them.
Closing Date: 2026-08-12 11:59 PM
This is a 12-month temporary position.
*This position is a combination of remote work and office presence. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers according to guidelines determined by the sector.*
The Position
If the prospect of building a new project and shaping the future of Canada's public media interests you, this position is for you.
We are looking for a visionary leader of great integrity who enjoys working with ambiguity and driving complex, multi-dimensional initiatives. You have a strategic mindset and strong interpersonal skills, and are equally comfortable making budget forecasts as presenting cases to senior management.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will design a leadership development strategy in line with CBC/Radio-Canada's institutional strategy 2025-2030, and ensure its adoption across the organization and its sustainability. You will be responsible for a modern portfolio including our flagship development programs, on-demand training, coaching services, and leadership assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Roadmap and Modernization: Design and implement a three to five-year leadership roadmap to address gaps in today's required skills (hybrid team management, mastery of digital tools and AI, resilience, inclusive leadership).
- Portfolio and Program Management: Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of dynamic leadership programs for executives at all levels (hires, mid-level managers, and senior leaders). Define the strategic foundations of initiatives (the "why") and measure the ROI and impact of these initiatives on our operations.
- Integrated Talent Management Strategy: In collaboration with the People and Culture group (HR, recruitment, succession planning), build a strong pool of diverse leaders and ensure that the skills acquired during training are easily accessible.
- Monitoring Activities and Finances: Manage the annual budgeting process for the portfolio, resource allocation, vendor contracts, and software/platform governance.
- Agile Project Delivery: Oversee project lifecycles, from quarterly planning to data-driven reviews. Establish KPIs to track progress, optimize delivery models, and regularly present results to senior management.
- Team Leadership: Hire, coach, and lead a highly performing team comprising internal professionals and external consultants.
Desired Profile
- Drive and communication skills.
- Bilingualism: Proficiency in both French and English, and a professional attitude that allows you to influence and advise senior executives.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to transform complex organizational challenges into concrete and innovative learning solutions.
- Change Leadership: Diplomacy and conflict management skills, to guide leaders through structural and cultural transformations.
Experience and Expertise
- Education: Bachelor's degree or master's degree in human resources, organizational development, or a related field.
- Experience: At least five years of experience in managing significant leadership development portfolios (team management, product governance, and vendor management).
- Domain Expertise: In-depth knowledge of modern pedagogical design, coaching frameworks, assessment tools, and global trends in learning and development.
- Strong Asset: Experience related to the media industry or the cultural sector.
The skills and knowledge of the candidates may be subject to testing.
We thank all candidates for their interest, but we will only communicate with those selected for an interview.
As part of our recruitment process, all candidates selected for the background check stage will be subject to the following verifications:
- Mandatory criminal record check.
- Other verifications may be conducted depending on the operational requirements of the position.
