The Night Shift Production Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing and packaging, as well as in managing the human and material resources under their responsibility. In a Lean-focused environment that emphasizes quality and productivity, they will ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and plant production standards to exceed our clients' expectations.

Responsibilities

Ensure that employees work in an environment that meets or exceeds occupational health and safety standards.

  • Supervise employees under their responsibility, assign tasks, and enforce the rules outlined in the collective agreement.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by motivating, inspiring, and encouraging employees to develop their skills and take initiatives in their roles.
  • Provide both technical and relational support to employees in their shift, mediate disciplinary measures or conflicts when necessary.
  • Ensure that employees are adequately trained and evaluate their performance continuously.
  • Develop the daily production plan and short-term production schedule, optimizing the use of available equipment and personnel to meet production standards and deadlines (quantity, quality, timeliness, proper documentation).
  • Adhere to procedures (MON) and good documentation practices in all operations and activities.
  • Verify, coordinate, and approve the use of raw materials and the use of any necessary assets and equipment for production.
  • Inform the maintenance supervisor of any mechanical issues, equipment breakdowns, or problematic situations they are aware of. Coordinate with them when maintenance is needed, whether planned or not. Generate work orders when required.
  • Verify and approve the use of facilities and equipment, materials, and components before each batch; draft the necessary release documents or production documents.
  • Ensure that the necessary resources (equipment) are available (and clean) before all production activities under their supervision.
  • Respond to BAS system alarms in their area of activity and contribute to minimizing them by taking concrete actions.
  • Review, verify, and complete manufacturing or packaging records and ensure their compliance with applicable procedures and standards, including (MON) procedures, occupational health and safety standards (OHS), and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Take performance indicators such as OEE and production schedule delays and implement corrective actions to address the situation.
  • Contribute to the implementation of any improvement or change that has a positive effect on operations, such as increasing yields, improving productivity, reducing downtime, and reducing costs.
  • Initiate deviations when required and work closely with the investigation team to resolve issues and implement corrective and/or preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with the technical team during the implementation of a new product in production.
  • Respond to questions during regulatory or client audits.

Education: Post-secondary diploma

Experience: Experience in production within a highly standardized manufacturing sector, such as the pharmaceutical, food, aerospace, chemical, or personal care industries, combined with a minimum of two years of experience in supervising, coordinating, or managing employees in a unionized environment, will be considered an asset.

  • Leadership, organizational skills, good time and priority management, strong adaptability to changes, and stress resistance.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision and support.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to understand the functioning of production systems and industrial equipment.
  • Good knowledge of both written and spoken French and English.
