YOUR NEXT CHALLENGES:
As the Engineering Coordinator – Ventilation, you will be part of the Engineering department. You will be responsible for planning, optimizing, and monitoring the ventilation network of the Odyssey mine. In collaboration with the existing team, you will, among other things, be called upon to participate in modeling and optimizing the future ventilation network of the various mining zones, plan the infrastructure needed for ventilation, plan the installation of auxiliary ventilation, optimize the energy consumption of the ventilation network, monitor ventilation for shaft sinking, and ensure the monitoring of the network. Additionally, you will be a key player in implementing demand ventilation at Odyssey.
You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, the health and safety code of conduct, and the environment.
More specifically, you will need to:
- Always respect health and safety policies and rules and promote their respect;
- Ensure compliance with environmental requirements of projects;
- Participate in modeling with Ventsim of the medium- to long-term ventilation network of the various mining zones;
- Plan the needs for fans and related infrastructure for the advancement of the ventilation network;
- Coordinate underground ventilation surveys and the weekly ventilation report;
- Establish and follow the logic of ventilation network control;
- Optimize ventilation energy consumption;
- Be responsible for the technical side of implementing demand ventilation;
- Participate in the design and monitoring of ventilation during shaft sinking;
- Establish ventilation needs and follow-ups related to the introduction of electric vehicles;
- Participate in the development of the Odyssey mine ventilation program;
- Participate in the development of Odyssey mine ventilation standards.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR YOUR SUCCESS
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering;
- Be registered as a Professional Engineer Candidate with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec or be in the process of doing so;
- Have experience in underground mine ventilation is an asset;
- Possess a valid general explosives permit;
- Have good knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office, Ventsim, Deswik.CAD;
- Have good knowledge of both French and English, spoken and written;
- Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and initiative;
- Show skills in working as a team and promoting collaboration;
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
