We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to support the delivery of major mining projects in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment. This is an on-site rotational role where you will directly contribute to the execution of work and the achievement of project objectives.

Your Role

As a Senior Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and analysis of the integrated project schedule, with a particular focus on on-site construction activities.

You will act as a strategic partner to project managers, construction managers, superintendents, and contractors to ensure effective execution of work and achievement of key project milestones.

Your ability to understand construction sequences, anticipate schedule risks, and recommend optimization strategies will be essential to the project's success.

Your Responsibilities

Integrated EPCM Scheduling

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Establish and manage work breakdown structures (WBS) and associated planning logics.
  • Ensure integration of critical interfaces between different project disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of schedules with the overall project execution strategy.

Construction Support and On-Site Presence

  • Work daily with construction teams to validate actual progress and execution sequences.
  • Actively participate in site meetings and short, medium, and long-term planning exercises.
  • Collaborate with superintendents, contractors, and field teams to identify constraints and optimization opportunities.
  • Adapt schedules based on operational realities, site conditions, and changing priorities.

Schedule Control and Performance Analysis

  • Perform critical path and critical activity analysis at the project's advancement.
  • Conduct earned value (EV, PV, AC) analyses and produce required performance indicators.
  • Identify schedule variances, drift risks, and their potential impacts on project delivery.
  • Develop and recommend recovery and mitigation strategies when required.

Risk Management and Execution Optimization

  • Participate in schedule-related risk identification and analysis exercises.
  • Anticipate interface conflicts, resource constraints, and bottlenecks that may affect work execution.
  • Recommend solutions to improve productivity and overall site performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project planning and control practices.

Reporting and Decision Support

  • Produce periodic schedule updates and progress reports.
  • Provide clear and relevant analyses to enable the project team to make informed decisions.
  • Present trends, critical issues, and potential impacts to project stakeholders.
  • Participate in performance reviews and project governance meetings.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Establish effective collaborative relationships with contractors and project partners.
  • Serve as a technical reference for project teams in scheduling matters.
  • Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior schedulers when required.

Education and Experience

  • University or college degree in a relevant field of engineering, construction, or project management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning major projects in an EPCM environment.
  • Significant experience in on-site construction planning.
  • Experience in the mining, metallurgical, heavy industrial, or energy sectors is considered a significant asset.

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Good knowledge of MS Project and project control tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing complex and multidisciplinary schedules.
  • Solid understanding of EPCM methodologies and interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Experience in earned value analysis, schedule risk management, and recovery strategies.
