As a Senior Credit Director, you will review and approve complex loan applications, assess risks, verify compliance with credit policies, and offer advice on financing solutions. Your strong expertise in financial analysis and credit risk management will enable you to support loan decisions, evaluate exceptions, and recommend measures that contribute to maintaining a healthy loan portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze and approve complex loan proposals in agricultural and commercial domains that exceed established lending powers.
  • Review source documents, financial information, and loan recommendations to support credit decisions.
  • Evaluate administrative requests, including loan modifications, changes to collateral, and policy exceptions.
  • Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and credit risk guidelines.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical advice to loan officers and credit specialists.
  • Collaborate with business partners, contribute to credit quality reviews, and support credit-related training initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, agriculture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least eight years of experience in commercial financing, agricultural financing, or both
  • In-depth knowledge of the Canadian agricultural industry and credit risk management practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating loan applications and analyzing financial statements, working capital, and cash flow
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex financing opportunities and apply risk mitigation strategies
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and providing technical advice to loan specialists
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills required in English and French, both written and oral, to convey information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in delivering credit-related training and learning programs
  • Experience in conducting credit quality reviews and tracking financing trends, an asset
