At the role of Construction Site Purchaser – Construction Materials and Mechanics, you play a key role at the heart of operations. You ensure the supply of materials, mechanical parts and essential services, in close collaboration with the site teams and suppliers. Thanks to strategic, efficient and well-coordinated purchases, you directly contribute to the performance and success of the projects.

What you will do

  • Receive purchase requests from superintendents and regional coordinators
  • Receive purchase requests for mechanical parts and services in subcontracting from the maintenance team leader and mechanics
  • Make purchases of materials and mechanical parts
  • Process purchase orders and ensure compliance with the administrative standards inherent to them.
  • Approve purchase orders;
  • Search for innovative products from local suppliers for the respective regions
  • Follow up on products out of stock, conciliation of delivery notes with purchase orders and approval of invoices;
  • Request quotations from suppliers;
  • Organize, when necessary, the transport of materials and parts;
  • Coordinate with the sites the reception of purchased materials and parts
  • Collaborate with supply specialists to optimize corporate agreements
  • Group purchases of products to maximize leverage and/or create annual agreements
  • Negotiate credit and payment terms with local suppliers
  • Follow established ISO procedures.
  • This position is for you if you have
  • A valid CCQ card (occupation)
  • More than 3 years of experience related to the supply of construction sites;
  • Good knowledge of the construction materials industry
  • Knowledge of civil engineering work is an asset
  • Hold a technical degree in logistics or procurement, or equivalent experience
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics is an important asset
  • Have excellent communication and relationship skills;
  • Great autonomy and skill in managing emergencies;
  • Good ability to meet challenges
  • Work location: On-site (Saint-Tite-des-Caps)
