We currently have an exciting opportunity as Manager, Financial Systems. This role is based in our IDS Office in Montreal, and reports to the Director Finance Systems.
The manager will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of key systems used by the Finance department; any development made to these systems and train/support the Finance users so that they can efficiently use these systems. The manager will manage a team of 4 employees currently assigned to these functions.
The manager and his team will also be representing the Finance department in special organization projects and is a key player in any acquisition, reorganization and system integration or development project.
Principal Responsibilities 1. Financial Systems Operations
Ensure the ongoing stability, reconciliation, integration, availability, and performance of our main Finance applications
- Our ERP systems (SAP S4 Hanna and Infoflo)
- IBM Cognos TM1
- IBM Cognos Controller
- CapexPlan
- Flowpex
- Data Warehouse and SQL cubes
2. Master Data and Organizational Data Governance
- Own the execution and coordination of Finance master data and organizational structure maintenance across all Finance applications, ensuring consistency, completeness, and alignment between systems.
- Establish controls to ensure data integrity and consistency.
3. Cross-System Alignment and Reconciliation
- Ensure financial system structures, master data, and metadata remain synchronized across Finance applications.
- Develop reconciliation controls between Finance applications.
- Investigate and resolve system data inconsistencies
- Coordinate periodic validation of organizational hierarchies and reporting structures.
- Ensure alignment of planning, reporting, consolidation, and ERP dimensions.
4. Partnership with SAP BPO and BI & Reporting Team
- Partner with the Finance SAP Business Process Owner to evaluate and implement Finance process, organizational, and master data changes impacting Finance systems.
- Collaborate with the BI & Reporting team to support reporting initiatives and ensure Finance data structures adequately support analytical and reporting requirements.
5. Project and Transformation Support
- Lead Finance Systems activities for acquisitions, business integrations, organizational restructurings, and Finance technology projects.
- Coordinate Finance systems integration activities.
- Support Finance transformation initiatives
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or related field; CPA designation is an asset.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, financial systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software support, or financial technologies.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards, financial reporting, consolidation, planning, and financial processes.
- Experience supporting financial applications, including ERP systems (preferably SAP), and consolidation, planning, and reporting solutions (experience with IBM Cognos Controller and TM1 is an asset).
- Experience managing financial master data and organizational structures across multiple systems.
- Experience ensuring data consistency and reconciliation between ERP, reporting, planning, and consolidation platforms.
- Experience working within a large matrix organization supporting multiple business units.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, reorganizations, and financial transformation initiatives.
- Understanding of data warehousing, financial data architecture, and system integrations.
- Bilingual (French and English).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and present recommendations to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, self-learning, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.
