CDPQ Infra is particularly responsible for the deployment of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) in Greater Montreal and the implementation of the TramCité project in Quebec City. CDPQ Infra is also a member of the Cadence group, which won the federal government's tender for the high-speed train project Alto in the Quebec-Toronto corridor.

Working within the TramCité project, the successful candidate will be exposed to the financial management of projects in development and pre-development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the monthly cost control process, analyze variances with the actual, and participate in presenting the variances between the actuals and the budget;
  • Prepare the quarterly forecasts and the annual project budget, including the establishment of project costs, and prepare presentations to senior management with an analysis of the variances between the budget and the actual costs;
  • Act as a resource person for all questions related to the cost control and budget tracking process;
  • Collaborate on the production and dissemination of presentations or other documentation necessary for the various committees and decision-making bodies, particularly for the financial, risk, and project issues;
  • Participate in the preparation of the financial information for the quarterly and annual updates of the financial model, including a review of the forecast assumptions;
  • Monitor the key performance indicators during the construction and operation period (KPIs) and provide monthly reports to management;
  • Participate and contribute to the development of the financial management systems and existing tools;
  • Participate in the establishment of the financial processes and controls for the project's operation phase;
  • Participate in the optimization and standardization of the project's financial processes, and contribute to the development and improvement of the existing IT tools;
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and financial analyses as needed.

Qualifications

  • University degree in accounting;
  • CPA professional title or in the process of obtaining it;
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in cost control within the infrastructure sector (an asset);
  • Ability to quickly master computer systems;
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 in general;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Power BI (an asset);
  • Proficiency in both French and English, both orally and in writing;
  • Intellectual curiosity and a sense of innovation;
  • Strong sense of organization and priority management;
  • Collaboration and team spirit.
