The Position
The *Store Manager* works with the District Supervisor to oversee all store activities, plan and execute strategies to stimulate sales and profitability. The *Store Manager* is responsible for merchandising, customer service, team training and development.
The *Store Manager* must adhere to all company policies and procedures and must set the example by demonstrating impeccable professionalism and integrity while creating a culture of trust and respect within the team. He/she must keep an open mind when managing customer and employee issues, listen to others, and make fair and honest decisions. The Store Manager monitors performance and takes immediate action regarding performance gaps. He/she is able to lead and create a positive overall experience for both customers and employees.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the District Supervisor to create and implement strategies to achieve store sales and cost control objectives.
- Provide training to the store team (current and new employees) on company standards and programs, as well as company policies.
- Take action, with the support of the District Supervisor, regarding performance gaps and conflict resolution.
- Recruit talent and provide ongoing training to motivate the team and highlight good performance.
- Perform administrative and operational tasks, as needed.
- Perform opening and closing procedures in accordance with operational guidelines.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met.
- Prepare and manage the weekly employee schedule.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve them quickly.
- Comply with all headquarters requests regarding store activities.
- Handle and manage all received merchandise deliveries.
- Process and manage all returns to headquarters, as needed.
- Adhere to company policies and regulations.
- Process cash/credit/debit card purchases at the checkout.
Qualifications
- At least two or three years of experience in retail sales management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience and/or training in visual merchandising
- Sharp business sense
- Proven personnel development skills and ability to assess talent
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage stress in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to delegate tasks and take responsibility
- Ability to lead a team in a positive and inclusive way
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work standing for long periods and climb a ladder
- Move, lift, and manipulate merchandise boxes and fixtures in the store (weights up to 30 lbs).
Availability Requirements
- Days, evenings, and weekends.
