We are looking for our next Housekeeping Director to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial leadership role in ensuring impeccable cleanliness of rooms and public spaces, optimal guest satisfaction, and operational excellence of your department. Your expertise in team management, laundry operations optimization, and strict hygiene standards will directly contribute to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Under the responsibility of the General Manager, the Housekeeping Director supervises and manages all operations of the department as well as the housekeeping team. They support colleagues to offer the best guest experience and apply all necessary procedures to maintain the establishment's standards. They ensure the satisfaction of employees and guests regarding the daily maintenance and preparation of rooms and public spaces. They are also responsible for managing the department's budget.
Main Responsibilities
Manage the planning of the housekeeping department's operations.
Participate in the hiring process in collaboration with the human resources department.
Ensure the training, integration, and planning of team members.
Conduct performance evaluations, enforce standards, and manage the overall performance of the housekeeping staff.
Lead the team daily: training on hygiene standards, daily inspections to ensure the establishment's standards are met.
Evaluate daily stock and inventory levels.
Perform quality control of the laundry.
Manage the laundry and ensure compliance with quality and hygiene standards.
Track and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the service for the department.
Establish a culture of continuous learning and accountability within the team to achieve high results.
Respond quickly and effectively to any emergency or safety situation in the hotel.
Handle guest complaints regarding rooms and public spaces with professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy.
Respond to guest requests accurately and on time, in person, by phone, or through the available technologies.
Use computer systems to produce various daily reports and ensure that guest preferences and specificities are respected and applied as much as possible.
Ensure that teams receive a clear and complete briefing before each shift.
Participate in periodic inventories (linens, uniforms, supplies) and recommend actions based on the results.
Ensure the proper functioning of the laundry service.
Ensure that all equipment and materials are well-maintained.
Manage operational expenses according to the budget and the company's needs, and implement adequate control systems.
Ensure that orders are placed according to needs and avoid stockouts.
Ensure the cleanliness of rooms and public areas at all times according to the highest hygiene standards.
Comply with payroll procedures and ensure the accuracy of the hours submitted as well as the delivery of information to accounting at the end of each pay period.
Act in accordance with the establishment's work rules and conduct standards and RIMAP.
Perform any other tasks related to the functions.

Skills and Qualifications
Fluency in French and English, spoken and written; knowledge of a third language is an asset.
Proficiency with computers and the main Microsoft Office Suite software.
Strong management, supervision, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage a large and diverse group of employees.
Inspiring leadership, focused on team development through clear communication and effective coaching.
Ability to read, understand, and follow a budget.

Education and Experience
Post-secondary or college diploma in hotel management or a related field.
5 to 10 years of experience in housekeeping management.
Experience in the hospitality industry or a related field is desirable.
