The IT Business Analyst represents the Information Technology department to business units.

You act as a facilitator between the business world and IT teams, ensuring the quality, clarity, traceability, and completeness of requirements, while challenging expressed needs to maximize business value.

Collaborate and support operational execution

  • Collaborate with IT business partners to understand, structure, and prioritize business unit needs.
  • Act as the functional contact point between business units and IT teams.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by ensuring clear, structured, and regular communication.
  • Build trust with stakeholders and act as a strategic advisor.
  • Contribute to the implementation of demand governance processes.
  • Analyze impacts on roles, processes, data, and solutions (people, process, data, technologies).
  • Develop strategies and plan change management activities.

Analyze and translate business needs into value

  • Analyze and document business needs through workshops, interviews, process analysis, and other techniques (Business Process Model and Notation, use cases, user stories, scenarios).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate, prioritize, and evolve requirements.
  • Identify inconsistencies, conflicts, risks, and improvement opportunities related to expressed needs.
  • Translate business needs into clear, complete, and understandable functional requirements for IT teams.
  • Produce required artifacts according to standards (e.g., URS, FS).
  • Map current and future business processes (AS-IS / TO-BE).
  • Ensure the quality, completeness, and traceability of requirements throughout the solution lifecycle (traceability, evolution, validation, prioritization).

Support strategic planning of initiatives

  • Support the preparation of project requests and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to impact analysis and expected benefit definition.
  • Participate in the evaluation of proposed solutions.
  • Support IT business partners in prioritizing requests by providing a clear view of business issues.
  • Collaborate with architects and IT teams to ensure alignment with technological directions.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and propose suitable technological solutions.

Support the technological initiative delivery cycle

  • Participate in demand management processes by capturing and collecting key information from business units.
  • Track needs and requirements until delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure a good understanding of requirements.
  • Support functional solution design and contribute to solution choice decisions.
  • Participate in validation activities (functional tests, UAT) to ensure solutions meet needs.
  • Contribute, if needed, to incident resolution.

Integrate quality, compliance, and security requirements

  • Ensure requirements account for regulatory, compliance, quality, information security, and system security requirements.
  • Contribute to the documentation and maintenance of required artifacts (processes, specifications, SOP, etc.).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the consideration of security and data integrity requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required functional information.

Communicate changes and support solution adoption

  • Participate in the communication of changes, impacts, and system evolutions to users.
  • Support the preparation of training plans, training materials, and knowledge transfer to key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the resolution of issues and their escalation, when required.
  • Ensure clear communication on the progress of activities, risks, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate on the continuous improvement of IT services based on stakeholder feedback.

  • Significant experience in a complex technological environment and value creation centered on business strategy.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.

Relevant certifications such as CBAP (BABOK) and BPMN 2.0 are considered an asset.
