Today, Canadians use their mobile devices for everything: getting around the city streets, staying in touch with loved ones, managing work on the go, and accessing essential services. The Radio Frequency Operations Project Office plays a crucial role in the performance of TELUS's 15,000 mobile sites nationwide. These problem-solving specialists and strategic thinkers ensure that millions of customers enjoy top-notch mobile coverage across Canada every day. They coordinate maintenance, repairs, and upgrades in partnership with field teams, vendor contractors, and the new Terrion entity. We believe it's important to stay calm under pressure and support each other. If you want to contribute to Canada's digital infrastructure and work with a leader who values your development as much as your results, look no further.
Here's how you'll do it:
Manage and forecast an annual budget at the portfolio level for capital and operations.
Collaborate with field teams and vendor contractors across Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba to plan and execute maintenance, repair, and upgrade work at mobile sites.
Prioritize and execute high-impact projects from a large number of opportunities, considering urgent needs and proactive strategic initiatives.
Monitor financial performance on a monthly and quarterly basis, quickly identifying risks and developing mitigation plans to absorb unexpected costs.
Collaborate with the implementation team, Terrion entity, and other key stakeholders to address site maintenance issues and ensure the smooth operation of the network.
Analyze historical spending data to identify trends and opportunities, such as replacing frequently failing equipment instead of pursuing costly repairs.
Communicate in French and English with internal team members, vendors, and partners across Eastern Canada to ensure effective coordination and execution.
You have: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field
At least 5 years of project management experience and the ability to manage annual budgets of $5 to $15 million
At least 3 years of financial management experience, including forecasting, variance tracking, and budget planning
Proficiency in French and English to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and partners across Quebec, Ontario, and Manitoba
Proven ability to forecast annual spending based on known commitments and emerging circumstances
Strong attention to detail and the ability to track multiple projects and financial commitments simultaneously
Strategic mindset focused on continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving rather than reactive approaches
Experience in collaborating across multiple teams and establishing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Assets: Professional designation in project management or equivalent certification
Accounting certification or degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
Experience with artificial intelligence tools and automation to improve the efficiency of financial tracking and reporting
Intermediate English proficiency is required, as you will be regularly called upon to interact in English with external parties (e.g., clients, vendors, or external partners); to interact in English with internal parties (e.g., colleagues or stakeholders) in the context of tasks related to this position with a national scope.
Salary Range: $86,000-$136,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Program: 15%
The total effective remuneration will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance, and experience. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, even if the displayed salary range does not match your expectations.
