Winpak is seeking 2 winding machine operators for the night shift at its Vaudreuil (Quebec) plant.

The person will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a master roll slitting equipment, allowing the production of 1 to 24 finished rolls per operation, in accordance with customer requirements and the company's quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Strictly apply the health and safety at work rules and policies to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Operate the equipment in accordance with the established operational standards.
  • Consult the production schedule to identify the products to be slit.
  • Adequately use the manufacturing folder and required production documents.
  • Clean and clear the table and equipment of any traces of previous product, according to the procedure.
  • Adjust the winding machine according to the technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Respect the quantities per roll according to the requested unit of measure.
  • Accurately complete the production and verification forms.
  • Prepare the necessary boxes and separators for packaging.
  • Identify the roll numbers and cutting positions.
  • Check the quality of the winding, hardness, and winding direction of the rolls.
  • Validate the identification of boxes and rolls.
  • Ensure that each roll is correctly identified with the MES production label, both inside and outside.
  • Stack the boxes or rolls on pallets according to the prescribed configuration.
  • Detect and remove production defects using the AVT vision system.
  • Perform a complete cleaning of the machine after operations.
  • Immediately report any anomaly or failure to the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (DES) or equivalent.
  • Good command of French (oral and written) required to ensure effective communication with the team and stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret production documents and work instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to handle loads in accordance with the job requirements.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in finishing, winding, or slitting machine operations.
  • Knowledge of industrial vision systems (AVT), MES systems, and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment where priorities change quickly.
