What are your contributions to the team?

  • Solve problems related to the fit, shape, or function of aeronautical components as well as repairs required during the manufacture of Bombardier Aerospace products.
  • Find solutions to problems reported regarding the aircraft's structure and/or systems, and prepare the necessary documentation to resolve them quickly and effectively.
  • Develop repair and/or recovery arrangements in accordance with engineering specifications, design concepts, and design integrity requirements, and approve these arrangements on behalf of the engineering department.
  • Work closely with all specialists in the engineering department, including design teams, stress analysis teams, materials technology teams, aerodynamics teams, performance teams, and others, to resolve technical issues.
  • Support and lead production teams, design engineering teams, supply teams, and quality teams in coordinating problem resolutions and implementing corrective actions related to engineering.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, functional test procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Provide updates on progress status and keep information up-to-date regarding manufacturing changes and issues encountered.
  • Ensure compliance with MRB (Material Review Board) procedures, quality requirements, and engineering procedures.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with constantly evolving priorities.

How will you thrive in this role?

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university or a college diploma in the aeronautical field.
  • You have at least eight (12) years of experience as an engineer or at least ten (17) years as a technologist.
  • You have good knowledge of the mechanical and electromechanical systems of aircraft.
  • You have previous MRB (Material Review Board) experience.
  • You have previously used CATIA V4 and V5 as well as MS Office.
  • You must be bilingual (English and French), both orally and in writing.
  • You must be able to work with minimal supervision, enjoy teamwork, and have project organization skills.
  • You must demonstrate initiative, a keen sense of responsibility, and good technical judgment.
  • Knowledge of the principles of supplementary type certification (STC) is a definite asset.
