What will you contribute to the team?
- Develop the aircraft-level architecture of navigation and sensing systems, as well as the associated aircraft-level requirements, to best meet market needs and program objectives.
- Lead aircraft-level trade-off analyses leading to the definition of the product configuration and architecture.
- Develop and maintain aircraft-level requirements with the support of various engineering disciplines.
- Be responsible for the definition and management of aircraft-level interface requirements (functional, logical, and physical).
- Lead aircraft-level validation and verification activities, from their definition to their execution, including the associated documentation.
- Lead intersystem integration activities, including aircraft-level integration activities.
- Assume responsibility for validation and verification summaries. Ensure technical oversight of validation and verification reports produced by various disciplines to ensure their completeness at the aircraft level.
- Support aircraft-level certification and safety activities within your area of responsibility, including the production and review of associated technical deliverables.
- Ensure technical coordination of the aircraft-level change management process (cross-cutting/multidisciplinary issues), as well as the associated implementation plan, including regression activities in validation and verification (V&V).
How will you thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, systems engineering, or a related field. Formal training in systems engineering is an asset.
- You have at least 8 years of relevant experience in the development and certification of aircraft or complex systems, including systems engineering, preliminary design, architecture development, and requirements-based verification.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in the development of functional, logical, and physical architectures, as well as the integration of avionics, navigation, and aeronautical sensing systems such as inertial reference systems (IRS/IRU) and radio altimeters, including the validation and verification of aircraft-level requirements.
- You have strong knowledge of complex systems development methodologies, as well as aeronautical development assurance standards such as ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178, and DO-254. Knowledge of DO-160, DO-297, human factors, or certification considerations related to crew interfaces is an asset.
- You ideally have experience with new or emerging technologies in the field of navigation and sensing systems, particularly when these influence certification, integration, or development assurance aspects.
- You have practical experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.
- You are recognized for your ability to mobilize various disciplines, clarify responsibilities, structure complex issues, and ensure that aircraft-level decisions are adequately documented, justified, verified, and certifiable.
- You demonstrate openness, curiosity, rigor, and method.
- You foster a collaborative and cohesive work environment and encourage the sharing of knowledge among team members.
- You have strong analytical skills and a strong capacity for systemic thinking, allowing you to structure complex issues and maintain a clear vision across different disciplines.
- You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to effectively interact with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- You clearly and concisely communicate technical concepts, project progress, and risks to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
