Temporary 9-12-month contract, full-time position working (0.9) nights - 9 shifts within a two-week period (including alternate weekends)

Position Overview

• Reporting to the Director of Clinical Care, the RN delivers holistic, compassionate nursing care to patients in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team. He/she utilizes a palliative care approach in providing comfort care to terminally ill patients and support for their families.

General Qualifications

• Must hold a current license with l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ)
• Understands palliative care philosophy and is able to focus on increasing the patient’s quality of life, maximizing comfort and supporting family
• Is comfortable and compassionate working with the dying.
• Has the maturity to accept and handle the emotionality of the work
• Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Bilingual (French & English)
• Has a basic knowledge of and respects the unique cultural/spiritual values, needs, beliefs and wishes of each patient/family

Bilingualism (spoken), is required, as the person in this position must assess the health status of French- and English-speaking patients, provide them with safe care, and communicate with them and their loved ones to convey important clinical information and adequately address their needs in the language they understand.

Pay: $29.58-$54.98 per hour
