The eligibility list from this process will be used to fill all positions for this function in the Traffic Engineering Section of the Innovation and Mobility Management Division at the Urban Development Projects Department of the Urban Planning and Mobility Service, whose requirements are the same or similar. Your Mission:

Manage multimodal flows to ensure the safety of travel through a network of 2,400 traffic lights, intelligently coordinating time and movements at intersections with traffic lights.

With the support of cutting-edge technological tools, you play a key role in a first-line citizen service, at the heart of the daily life of Montrealers.

Your Mandate

Every day, you are at the heart of the urban transformation of Montreal.

You are part of a team of experts who shape tomorrow's mobility. You closely participate in the design of street improvement projects, optimize network performance, design security projects in an agile manner, and participate in the intelligent design of traffic lights.

You design and implement traffic light programming, conduct and validate traffic studies and simulations, propose innovative concepts, and actively contribute to the optimization of mobility across the entire island of Montreal. You also demonstrate creativity to adapt solutions to on-the-ground realities.

And your role goes even further. You write technical reports and guides, especially for pedestrians and cyclists, and respond to the various requests of the division to ensure the success of the projects. You analyze the impacts of preferential measures for buses, cycling lanes, and vehicle movements on Montreal's arteries.

PROFILE REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or another relevant engineering field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the transportation field, ideally in traffic lights
• Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (ing., CPI)
• Knowledge of Tome V – Road Signage from the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD)
• Knowledge of Synchro or Vistro or other traffic modeling software is desirable
• Knowledge of MicroStation Outils ASFC is also desirable
• Required skills: expertise in the field, interpersonal communication, organizational skills, advisory role
