ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Supervise, mentor, and collaborate closely with aquatics staff;
  • Handle emergency situations, serious incidents, and important decisions in collaboration with the director and/or aquatics coordinator;
  • Manage important communications with parents (handling complaints, etc.);
  • Oversee payroll and scheduling for aquatics staff;
  • Lead and participate in meetings;
  • Coordinate and implement aquatics activities;
  • Ensure compliance with regulations related to aquatics activities, stay updated on current policies and regulations, and inform participants and users;
  • Coordinate training and development for employees under your supervision;
  • Monitor the water area under your responsibility when required;
  • Perform other tasks related to the proper functioning of the pools.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • Hold a degree in leisure management and intervention or other relevant training or experience;
  • Have at least two (2) years of experience in the aquatics field (lifeguard and instructor);
  • Hold a national pool lifeguard and swimming instructor certification;
  • Have experience in supervising staff management;
  • Have strong conflict resolution and difficult situation management skills (parents, children, employees);
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and demonstrate empathy and active listening;
  • Exhibit leadership qualities;
  • Have a sense of responsibility and be self-sufficient;
  • Be a skilled communicator, both orally and in writing.
