The incumbent is responsible for evaluating and translating business needs into clear and actionable product requirements, aligned with CN's strategic objectives. The role requires a strong combination of business sense and technical understanding to assess trade-offs, prioritize product features, and maintain a roadmap that maximizes business value. Working closely with business and Information Technology (I&T) stakeholders, the Product Manager supports the full lifecycle of assigned products, from initial development to continuous evolution and improvement. The role actively incorporates customer and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve product performance, user experience, and overall satisfaction, ensuring solutions meet real customer needs, operational challenges, and organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders and internal stakeholders to identify product opportunities and ensure alignment with business outcomes
Lead the complete process of receiving, evaluating, and prioritizing product initiatives, enhancements, and defect fixes for the assigned domain
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into clear and actionable product features and backlog items
Develop, maintain, and communicate product roadmaps aligned with business strategy, delivery capacity, and technological orientation
Be responsible for managing the product backlog, ensuring its continuous refinement, prioritization, and preparation for delivery teams
Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and delivery teams to support design, development, testing, and deployment activities
Support Agile ceremonies and planning activities, including Program Increment Planning (PI), backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Define and track value metrics, benefit realization, and performance indicators to evaluate product effectiveness and business impact
Assess and communicate the impacts of scope, schedule, cost, dependency, and delivery risk changes
Act as a key escalation point to resolve team dependencies, conflicting priorities, and scope-related issues
Ensure products and enhancements comply with regulatory, cybersecurity, architecture, and governance requirements
Conduct market research and industry analysis to guide product decisions and identify innovative or competitive opportunities
Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to support product delivery and understand technological capability evolution
Support the development of profitability analyses, funding requests, and annual budget activities related to assigned products
Facilitate communication with stakeholders by providing regular updates on progress, risks, milestones, and decisions
Participate in product demonstrations, deployment activities, and post-implementation reviews to foster continuous improvement
Support continuous product lifecycle management, including operational readiness, maintenance activities, and planned enhancements
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of global professional experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or a related role
Demonstrated experience working with executives and diverse stakeholder groups to support informed decision-making
Proven experience in designing, delivering, scaling, and maintaining products throughout their lifecycle
Experience working across business and technical functions, with increasing levels of responsibility
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Agile, Lean, or iterative delivery environments
Education / Certification / Designation
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or business administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications in product management or business analysis* *Additional designations will be considered as an asset*

Technical Skills / Knowledge
Strong knowledge of product management and business analysis practices, methodologies, and tools
Experience in writing business requirements documents, statements of work, and supporting investment planning
Understanding of Agile, Lean, and DevSecOps principles and practices
Ability to define product vision, roadmap, and value propositions and execute them
Strong analytical capabilities, including cost-benefit trade-off and value realization assessment
Technical understanding of cloud platforms, data strategies, and modern enterprise systems
Knowledge of system architecture concepts and systems engineering practices
Experience with complex and business-critical systems
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement practices
Experience in the transportation, logistics, telecommunications, or railway operations sectors* *Additional experience will be considered as an asset*
