Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and reconcile the general ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, customer accounts, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, payroll, and intercompany operations (complete accounting cycle).
  • Perform the month-end closing process adequately and on time.
  • Identify issues and errors, find the reason for discrepancies, consult with the director or partner responsible for the task, and develop solutions.
  • Produce TPS-TVQ, DAS, T4 reports, etc.
  • Communicate with governments regarding information requests, tax notices, and provisional withholdings.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation for the preparation of end-of-year financial statements.
  • Provide support to clients and be willing to travel to their locations if needed.
  • Collaborate on the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Skills and Experience

  • DEP, DEC, Certificate, or Professional Diploma in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting field.
  • Experience with vendor accounts, customer accounts, knowledge of work in progress, payroll production, and complete accounting cycle.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Acomba, Avantage, and Sage 50.
  • Experience working in an accounting firm or professional services (an asset).
  • Enjoy collaborating, have a good team spirit.
  • Be a structured, versatile, responsible, and autonomous person.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in the Office suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
