The Intermediate Technician contributes to contractual administration, document tracking, and technical coordination of infrastructure projects in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The role supports project management, monitoring, and engineering teams by ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, technical deliverables, contractual modifications, and associated administrative documentation for the works.
The incumbent participates in various project execution phases, including document control, progress billing tracking, non-conformity management, claim processing, coordination with technical contractors, and extra-contractual file tracking. The position requires constant communication with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to schedules, contractual requirements, and administrative processes.
The desired profile holds a degree in electrical engineering and significant experience in technical coordination, contract administration, or project implementation support.
- Animate weekly project meetings and produce coordination reports.
- Process denials and maintain up-to-date associated contractual registers.
- Track receipts and update document control tables.
- Prepare and distribute non-conformity notices within the quality control process.
- Track progress billing and payment requests according to contractual requirements.
- Administer the contractual deliverables register including technical sheets, workshop drawings, work methods, samples, and technical questions.
- Verify the compliance of deliverables register updates submitted by the contractor and track deviations.
- Coordinate the processing of extra-contractual changes and track modification requests.
- Manage the transmission of change requests, modification directives, and associated contractual documents.
- Track claims, potential files, and extra-contractual requests from the contractor.
- Coordinate with engineers to obtain required technical documents and ensure their final transmission.
- Create and maintain bills in contract management systems.
- Support project management and administration activities related to construction contracts.
- Participate in the tracking of internal mandates, work coordination, and billing validation.
- Ensure the tracking of required administrative documentation for the final transfer of works.
- Maintain contractual penalty tracking tables and produce required reports.
- Transmit bonds and insurance certificates to procurement teams.
- Compile and organize documentation related to claim files, including correspondence, reports, photos, and schedules.
Qualifications
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in electrical engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in contractual administration, technical coordination, or project documentation management.
- Experience in tracking technical deliverables, progress billing, non-conformities, and contractual modifications.
- Knowledge of document management and contractual control processes in a project environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and technical contractors.
- Ability to track multiple files in a project implementation environment.
Assets
- Experience on public infrastructure or public transportation projects.
- Knowledge of contract management software such as Contract Management or equivalent platform.
- Experience in tracking claims and contractual changes.
- Familiarity with work transfer and contractual closure processes.
- Experience in an environment involving contractors, consultants, and institutional clients.
