The Financing and Liquidity Technology Group, Technology Services and Quantitative Services, RBC Capital Markets, is responsible for supporting operational units that manage both guaranteed and unguaranteed financing within Capital Markets. We invest in new capabilities to ensure that RBC is as efficient as possible in terms of financing the company in line with our appetite for risk. You will work within a small team that maintains direct links with business analysts and users at RBC. This role is a great opportunity to learn more about the Capital Markets sector.
Responsibilities
- As a senior software developer, you will collaborate with the team to implement software for the Financing team's initiatives and integrate them into the generic data processing pipeline.
- Perform data analysis and schema designs for the Modernization, Financing, and Liquidity team's applications.
- Code, test, debug, implement, and support end-of-day batch processing, and real-time reporting on assets, liabilities, and financing.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve production issues related to data flows, application performance, system latency, and infrastructure and network products.
- Provide support for application deployment and production incident and issue resolution, rotating as a developer or application owner, with limited off-hours work and on-call availability.
- Act as a mentor and technical leader to oversee architecture and guide technology for ongoing and future work.
- Collaborate with the broader Capital Markets community to obtain feedback and review of the approach and design used.
- As part of this role, you will frequently communicate and interact with partners and colleagues in Canada or around the world.
- Key Success Factors
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or a related technical program
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Java programming, microservices, and architecture
- Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and concurrent access
- Excellent knowledge of SQL, Maven, Unix, and other development tools related to continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Knowledge of distributed cloud applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Containerization)
