The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for optimizing production processes using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce costs in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

He/She will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Mirabel plant. In an environment focused on continuous improvement (Lean Six Sigma), quality, and productivity, he/she will ensure compliance with health and safety standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and plant production standards to exceed client expectations. He/She will be responsible for producing documentation to standardize our operations, leading problem resolution, and providing technical training.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of methods and processes to optimize a continuous flow and reduce or eliminate waste.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban) and Six Sigma (DMAIC).
  • Lead teams on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Track and measure the performance of improvement projects to ensure achievement of goals.
  • Write the required technical documentation.
  • Lead problem resolution and provide technical advice when needed.
  • Conduct time studies and propose changes to improve processes.
  • Plan, organize, direct, execute, and control the parts of projects under his/her responsibility.
  • Suggest, write, and participate in the integration of new technologies.
  • Conduct internal audits to verify the compliance and effectiveness of improved processes.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree or college diploma in engineering or a related field.

Training: Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) is an asset.

Experience: Technical or mechanical experience with production equipment in a highly standardized manufacturing sector such as pharmaceutical, food, aerospace, chemical, or personal care industries, combined with experience in technical writing.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and coaching skills.
  • Leadership, organizational skills, good time and priority management, strong adaptability to changes, and stress resistance.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision and support.
  • High writing skills.
  • Ability to understand the functioning of production systems and industrial equipment.
  • Experience in project management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and good manufacturing practices (GMP) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in management software and statistical tools (SAP and Minitab are assets).
  • Good knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken.
