Production Operator

• This position is based in Sainte-Catherine (Quebec)
• This is an on-site position

The production operator will be responsible for implementing and carrying out daily operations. They will ensure the safe handling of anhydrous ammonia and ammonium hydroxide in the context of processes and applications aimed at meeting the needs of Airgas customers. They will maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance and ensure that facilities meet Airgas' established professional quality standards. They will be attentive to customer service requests and comments and respond in a way that promotes good understanding.

Required Responsibilities

• Loading, unloading, and draining bulk tankers (anhydrous ammonia/ammonium hydroxide)
• Maintaining the plant for all aspects of the installation to ensure an optimal environment
• Maintaining trucks and trailers, including refurbishing pumps and all other process components
• Sampling by the Cold Flo method (anhydrous ammonia)
• Producing, testing, and recording data related to ammonium hydroxide
• Daily inventory and monitoring of products
• Recording and interpreting data to advance operational objectives
• Ensuring that all safety guidelines are strictly followed
• Conducting thorough inspections of the plant and pipes, paying attention to details
• Completing other related tasks and following reasonable instructions given by the supervisor
• Understanding that the job description presents the main tasks but is not an exhaustive list of all the requirements of the position
• Strictly adhering to Airgas' established policies and performing all tasks safely as a condition of employment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets
• Knowledge of the field and ability to lift 27 kg required
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure to meet deadlines
• Must be able to perform overtime hours if necessary
• Must be able to work with a wide range of people with different personalities and backgrounds
• Must have basic computer knowledge
