Plan, organize, direct, and control the activities related to the purchase of materials, supplies, and raw materials within the company.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze project distribution to establish planning and procurement priorities
  • Assess the need for raw material and component (fastener) procurement, following up on project distribution analysis
  • Manage the complete purchasing process and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best purchasing conditions (price, delivery times, etc.)
  • Drive cost reduction projects
  • Analyze, evaluate, and develop a strategy related to frequent purchases and associated volumes
  • Track ongoing orders and follow up with the responsible person
  • Perform material, component, and product receipts in the ERP system
  • Manage emergencies related to unexpected procurement requests
  • Participate in the submission process by providing up-to-date data related to metal prices (indicators)
  • Receive and discuss with suppliers during visits
  • Evaluate supplier performance
  • Analyze and validate received shipments to ensure the order matches the invoice
  • Organize overseas transportation
  • Perform and analyze monthly inventory taking, including adjusting reorder parameters
  • Place purchase orders for factory and office supplies
  • Ensure that company rules, procedures, and policies are uniformly applied
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including management, support, and production
  • Organize your workspace and files to be effectively replaced if needed

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • DEC or AEC in operations and supply chain management, logistics, or administration
  • Any combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar purchasing and/or planning role, ideally in a manufacturing environment

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

  • Perfect mastery of French and English (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of production planning principles (MRP/MPS)
  • Technical knowledge of metal and metal part manufacturing
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing sector and manufacturing management software

  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong sense of priorities and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a rapidly changing deadline context
  • Good negotiation skills and ease of communication with suppliers
