Under the direction of the Regional Director, the Site Director is responsible for coordinating site activities, managing teams, and ensuring the smooth operation of activities related to the purchase, transport, and processing of materials. They contribute to achieving performance objectives while maintaining a safe and customer-satisfaction-oriented work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Be actively on-site with employees;
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate the workforce; conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
- Monitor staff performance, produce analysis reports, and provide tailored support.
- Organize the efficient allocation of trucks and coordinate transport schedules.
- Manage the supply of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Plan, direct, and track daily activities with sector managers.
- Define priorities, identify performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
- Actively contribute to achieving financial results and operational cost control.
- Prepare reports for management and participate in strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain a customer service culture by training a team focused on meeting local needs.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and optimize work methods.
- Conduct local marketing actions to increase site visibility and meet specific customer needs.
- Define, document, and update operational policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards; take necessary measures to ensure a safe environment.
- Perform any other related tasks as needed for operational requirements.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions;
- Exposure to hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-10 years of operational management experience, including 2 years in the metallurgical industry or related sector (an asset);
- Proven experience in managing teams of 5+ employees with measurable results;
- Bilingualism: French and English (oral and written) - professional level;
- Ability to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives;
- Expertise in organizational transformation projects;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, project management tools.
- Desired certification: Lean Six Sigma, project management (PMP), or equivalent.
Skills Required

- Strong leadership, mentoring, or motivational skills;
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills;
- Strong written and oral communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
