JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the unit manager and in close collaboration with the nursing and clinical team, you will be responsible for:

• Daily Assistance: Help residents with essential activities such as hygiene, meals, elimination, as well as their occupations and sleep.
• Well-being and Comfort: Ensure a safe and pleasant environment, while promoting the physical and emotional well-being of residents. Provide appropriate support and respect their integrity and dignity.
• Observation and Monitoring: Carefully observe residents and report any anomalies to the healthcare team. Caregivers play a key role in continuous monitoring and communication of residents' needs.
• Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and attentive listening, thus contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of residents.
• Environment Management: Maintain cleanliness and order in the common and private spaces of residents, ensuring a pleasant lifestyle.
• Mobility and Transportation: Help residents with their movements, accompany them on outings, and ensure their safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Here are the essential criteria we are looking for in this position:

• Experience: Have at least 1 year of experience with the elderly.
• Education: One of the following paths:
• Caregiver course of at least 750 hours, including PDSB certification.
• One year of health, assistance, and nursing care (SASI) training with a first internship, including PDSP certification.
• One year of college-level nursing training with a first internship, including PDSP certification.
• Teamwork: Have a good ability to collaborate with various professionals and work in a team.
• Communication: Be able to clearly and constructively communicate your daily needs and challenges.
• Diligence and Punctuality: Be diligent and punctual in your work.
• Shared Values: Adhere to our values of listening, kindness, respect, and empathy.
• Languages: Master French (spoken and written), English is an asset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Evening, night, and weekend premiums
• Salary: $29.40
• This position requires availability for one weekend every two weeks and two work shifts.

NUMBER OF HOURS

• Schedule with a known monthly schedule in advance.
• Possibility of working up to 36.25 hours per week
