Your Role

We are looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee the management of the organization's physical infrastructures: maintenance, proper functioning of the building, security, reception, and access management. The person ensures that the spaces and systems of the building adequately support the activities of creation, production, and dissemination.

The position includes supervising a team (general maintenance and reception), managing maintenance contracts and relationships with suppliers, and an active role in occupational health and safety and regulatory compliance.

All activities are carried out under the direct supervision of the VP of Finance and Administration, who defines the needs, priorities, and directions.

Permanent, full-time position, start date September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Property Management

  • Ensure the maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of the building: HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, electrical networks, elevators, fire protection, security cameras, access control, and alarm systems
  • Negotiate and approve maintenance contracts for equipment (excluding stage equipment) and the building, within the annual budget
  • Develop preventive maintenance plans for critical systems
  • Coordinate the maintenance schedule according to activities in the studios
  • Manage stocks and inventories related to building maintenance and the costume shop
  • Ensure the arrangement of office spaces and common areas
  • Participate in the drafting of building management policies and ensure their compliance
  • In collaboration with the VP of Finance and Administration, negotiate long-term lease agreements, including the management of tenant leases and the warehouse lease

Supervision and Cross-Functional Responsibilities

  • Supervise members of the general maintenance team and employees assigned to reception
  • Manage the allocation of physical access to buildings

Administration, Security, and Compliance

  • Participate in occupational health and safety (OHS) risk assessments and the implementation of corrective measures
  • Collaborate with the Contracts and Insurance Manager for the annual renewal of policies (liability, property, etc.) and the reporting of any situation that may impact coverage
  • Ensure compliance of facilities with applicable regulations

Required Skills and Profile

  • Education in property management, construction, or a related field, or equivalent experience in facility management or building maintenance
  • Experience in managing cultural or entertainment facilities – an asset
  • Experience in project management or construction (e.g., as a construction foreman) – an asset
  • Good knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electricity, fire protection, security, and access control
  • Ability to read plans and knowledge of CAD (e.g., AutoCAD) – an asset
  • Experience in team supervision and management of maintenance contracts and suppliers
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and applicable regulations
  • Sense of organization, autonomy, diligence, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Bilingual French-English
