Description

Do you want to actively contribute to industrial projects while developing your skills in a structured and evolving environment? We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Designer, ready to join an experienced team and grow within a manufacturing company undergoing transformation.

Today, Trio Pac is choosing to evolve.

In an industry where changes are rare, the company is embarking on modernization driven by entrepreneurs from the world of technological startups. The integration of information technologies becomes a concrete lever to structure processes, improve collaboration, and evolve our ways of doing things.

Concretely, Trio Pac designs and deploys robust and durable conveying solutions adapted to demanding manufacturing environments. Based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and with over 30 years of experience, we carry out custom and standard projects for clients in Canada and internationally.

In this context of growth and transformation, we are looking for a Mechanical Designer to actively contribute to the realization of our projects, while gradually developing their autonomy and technical expertise.

*This role offers a great opportunity for development while allowing direct contribution to the ways of doing things.*

Your role

As a Mechanical Designer, you will actively contribute to the design and adaptation of conveying systems destined for demanding manufacturing environments. The position is aimed at a person already autonomous in the basics of mechanical design, capable of delivering reliable and well-structured designs.

Design and modeling

  • Design and model conveyor systems adapted to the specific needs of clients;
  • Adapt existing concepts and modules to new application contexts, while respecting established standards;
  • Apply relevant design standards, including food safety requirements;
  • Collaborate closely with integrator partners (robotics, engineering consulting, automation);
  • Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of reusable equipment and modules;
  • Participate, depending on experience, in product development and improvement initiatives.

Production support and field validation

  • Produce manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and complete technical documents;
  • Ensure the traceability and compliance of technical documentation;
  • Provide rigorous technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams;
  • Adjust designs according to manufacturing, installation, and performance constraints;
  • Participate in testing, functional validation, and commissioning, as needed.

Collaboration and responsibility

  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, procurement, and production;
  • Participate in design reviews, technical presentations, and meetings with partners;
  • Occasionally perform site visits and measurements;
  • Ensure that designs meet technical, budgetary, and deadline constraints.

Essentials (non-negotiable)

  • Technical or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering;
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in the design of manufacturing or industrial equipment;
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent 3D) and a 2D tool;
  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously produce complete and exploitable mechanical designs;
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, bending);
  • Excellent technical rigor, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in real-time deadline contexts;
  • Functional bilingualism in French/English to be able to respond to English-speaking clients outside Quebec.

Strongly appreciated assets

  • Experience in conveyors or material handling equipment;
  • Knowledge of food safety standards;
  • Exposure to standardized environments (ATEX / hazardous areas).
  • Experience with a PDM and/or a manufacturing ERP (e.g., Genius);

This position is aimed at a designer already solid in their basics, who wishes to evolve in a structured, demanding, and quality-oriented environment.
