Respond to and process customer repair requests. Communicate with customers to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen and mechanical equipment tools, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radio). Identify, locate, and activate all equipment shutdown valves and all public service cutoff handles for buildings. Maintain required stocks for maintenance and order necessary parts and supplies. Communicate daily activities and issues to other teams using approved communication standards and programs. Have basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building. Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor repairs to drywall and trim, replacement of light bulbs and air conditioner filters, and thorough and meticulous cleaning of painted or repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains), electrical components, including lamps, cosmetics, electrical extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace switches and electrical outlets, and other client room items. Program televisions and perform general maintenance and inventory tasks related to engineering. Use the locking system before performing maintenance work. Perform repairs to interior and exterior landscaping and exterior landscaping sprinklers. Have basic computer skills, including entering air conditioning unit schedules and making temperature changes.

Follow company policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, hazardous work conditions, accidents, and injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials according to safety guidelines. Ensure you wear a clean and complete work uniform; maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times on the job; respect confidentiality in the dissemination of banner and/or hotel information and protect all company property. Greet and welcome all customers according to company standards; anticipate and address customer service needs; assist disabled persons and thank customers with genuine appreciation. Meet quality requirements and standards. Develop positive and constructive professional relationships with peers; unite and assist each other to achieve common goals; listen and respond appropriately to other employees' issues. Use clear and courteous language in all communication. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds (22.7 kg) without assistance and objects weighing more with assistance. Climb and descend stairs, service ramps, and ladders. Reach objects above the head and below the knees, including bending, body rotations, pulling, and crouching. Enter and find information related to work using computers. Perform other reasonable job tasks as requested.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent secondary level and recommended professional or technical experience.

Relevant Work Experience: Experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting of interior and exterior surfaces.

Experience in hotel maintenance/engineering is an asset.

Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
