The Management and Sales Training Program at Sherwin-Williams is an accelerated program for beginners designed to prepare you for a store manager position in 18 to 24 months. Thanks to Sherwin-Williams' internal promotion philosophy, you will have the opportunity to access an assistant store manager position after successfully completing the initial six to eight-week training program.
In the framework of the program, you will collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, bringing your leadership and vision to the development and strategy of this store. Throughout this program, you will discover all the activities, customers, and internal strategy, which will allow you to understand the important role you will play in the success of the team. You will increase the company's market share by selling products to important commercial users, such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other commercial users who need large volumes of our high-quality products.

- Complete the training according to the established program
- Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent service
- Develop and maintain knowledge of all products to ensure effective recommendations to customers
- Establish positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers
- Perform store administration
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including safety, loss prevention, and security
- Maintain the exceptional condition of the store and visual merchandising standards, including promotional packaging and sales displays
- Support employee training and development, performance management, and corrective measures
- Respond to customer or employee complaints and resolve them
- Work in partnership with the store manager to perform outside sales visits to increase market share
Minimum requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Must have at least a college or university diploma by the start date of this development program
- Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, as well as carry up to 23 kg (50 lb), sometimes up to 32 kg (70 lb) with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in French
Preferred qualifications
- Have at least one (1) year of experience in a retail sales, sales, or customer service position
- Have at least one (1) year of experience in one or more leadership, supervisory, or team management roles
- Have previous experience in teamwork, including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
- Have professional experience in the sale of paint and related products
- Have professional experience using time tracking systems and/or customer relationship management ("CRM") systems
- Willingness to relocate for future employment opportunities
