The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the UI Engine team, you will lead initiatives focused on scalability, performance, and platform robustness across Battlefield’s UI technology stack.
Operating at the engine and systems level, you will help evolve our UI platform to support large-scale content production and high-performance runtime requirements across multiple teams and feature areas. You’ll work cross-functionally with engine, rendering, gameplay, and performance teams to identify systemic improvements, drive architectural changes, and ensure our UI systems meet the demands of modern large-scale development.
This role combines hands-on technical execution with technical leadership. You will define initiatives, break down complex technical challenges, and collaborate across High-Level Features (HLFs) and central performance teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Drive scalable platform initiatives within the UI engine domain in collaboration with technical leadership.
- Architect, implement, and evolve engine-level UI systems with a strong focus on performance and robustness.
- Identifysystemic bottlenecks and lead cross-team efforts to address CPU, memory, and runtime efficiency challenges.
- Break down complex technical problems into actionable work across the team.
- Partner with engine systems, rendering, and performance teams toalign onoptimization strategies.
Example Work
- Lead cross-discipline efforts to improve CPU and memory efficiency of UI systems in large-scale gameplay scenarios.
- Build and extend profiling, budgeting, and performance analysis capabilities at the engine level.
- Refactor and modernize legacy systems to improve stability, maintainability, and performance visibility.
Skills \& Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Extensive experience working with engine-level or central technology systems in the games industry.
- Deepexpertisein C++ and large-scale, performance-critical codebases.
- Strong background in CPU and memory profiling in real-time environments.
- Proven experience driving architectural initiatives across multiple teams.
- Ability to define technical direction whileremaininghands-on with complex implementation work.
- Excellent cross-team collaboration and communication skills.

- Experience working with Frostbite.
- Strong UI systems experience.
- Background in scalable engine platform development.
- Experience partnering with central performance or engine teams.
- Experience working on large AAA live products.
