DG Canest Transit Inc. is a growing company specializing in transshipment and logistics services at the Port of Montreal. We are looking for a meticulous and motivated individual who wishes to actively contribute to the company's financial performance and the continuous improvement of our processes.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will participate in the management of the company's accounting and financial activities. Specifically, they will:
- Supervise and support a team of two accounting technicians;
- Participate in the monthly financial closing process (accounting entries, bank reconciliations, and financial account analyses);
- Prepare end-of-month financial statements and reports;
- Contribute to the preparation of end-of-year files and collaborate on annual verification;
- Collaborate with external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of financial management tools, internal controls, and processes;
- Supervise daily activities related to customer and vendor accounts;
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial production deadlines;
- Participate in various special projects in support of the finance department.
Desired Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or position;
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced functions, data lookup, etc.);
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and the complete accounting cycle;
- Experience in team supervision;
- High level of rigor, attention to detail, and precision;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit.
Assets
- CPA designation (obtained or in the process of being obtained);
- Experience working in a group of associated companies.
