The person holding this position contributes to the overall success of MD Wealth Management in Canada by ensuring that their individual goals, initiatives, and plans support the business strategies and team objectives. They also ensure that all activities comply with regulations as well as applicable internal policies and procedures. Under the direction of the regional director or regional manager, the person holding this position helps MD clients and their families achieve their financial goals. Additionally, in partnership with MD's specialized advisory services team, they leverage their years of experience and strong client orientation to develop comprehensive financial plans and targeted investment strategies for the client base. Finally, they identify and generate prospecting opportunities and ensure the loyalty of current clients by building strong relationships with them and offering comprehensive financial plans.
Is this position for you? Functions and responsibilities
- Promote a customer-focused culture to deepen your relationships with clients and leverage the relationships, systems, and knowledge of the entire Bank.
- Prepare and implement quarterly business plans to contribute to the achievement of individual, regional, and organizational targets.
- Actively participate in client prospecting.
- Offer financial planning services in the following areas: risk management, estate planning, liability management, budgeting (inflows and outflows of funds), financing education, taxation, retirement planning, investment management, professional practice management, and goal setting.
- Prepare customized investment strategies and comprehensive financial plans based on the range of optimal portfolios designed and managed by MD Wealth Management.
- Understand the regulatory requirements of the financial services sector as well as the programs and processes of MD, and comply with them.
- Host financial planning seminars and information sessions in your region to keep the client base informed of legislative changes as well as programs and new MD Wealth Management strategies.
- Communicate with influence centers to increase the visibility of products and services.
- Stay up-to-date on issues affecting clients' finances and have a general knowledge of income tax, trends, and investment products, and any other issue that affects the client base.
- Provide input on potential products and services to the marketing team and management.
Promote a highly productive and inclusive work environment.
Education, Professional Experience, Certifications, and Skills Required:
- College or university degree
- Registered Representative license from the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO); passing the Canadian Investment Regulatory Examination, the Securities – Retail Clients Examination, and the internal training for registered representatives
- Pl. Fin. title
- Passing the Life Insurance License Qualification Program (PQPAV), an asset. Life Insurance License in the category of collective pension plans (PQPAV) (*Quebec only*), an asset.
- You have extensive and in-depth knowledge of basic financial products and feel confident when communicating this information to clients.
- Excellent computer skills, including good proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and other portfolio management and financial planning software
- Experience in the lending sector, an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve above-average sales figures in the financial services sector or a related sector
- More than two years of experience in financial planning in the financial services sector
- Strong marketing skills
- Excellent public speaking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
