Production Journeyman - Specialized Products Manufacturing

Full-time permanent position - Dunham, Quebec

About D. Marchand inc.

D. Marchand inc. is a Quebec-based manufacturing company located in Dunham. We manufacture union joint cables (pintlepins) primarily used by the Canadian and international paper and pulp industry.

As part of our growth, we are looking to hire a Production Journeyman to join our manufacturing team.

Under the supervision of the production manager, the successful candidate will participate in the various stages of manufacturing our specialized products.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform manual manufacturing and assembly operations;
• Prepare the components necessary for production;
• Wind the cable according to established manufacturing methods;
• Cut and attach the filament according to the required dimensions;
• Maintain a clean and safe work area;
• Follow established production procedures;
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.

Job Requirements

• Good manual dexterity;
• Ability to perform repetitive work with precision;
• Attention to detail and quality work;
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work in a team;
• Experience in a manufacturing or manual assembly environment (an asset).
• No specialized training required. Full training provided on-site.

Working Conditions

• Full-time permanent position;
• 39.5 hours per week but paid for 40 hours;
• Day shift:
• Monday to Thursday: 8 am to 5 pm;
• Friday: 8 am to 4:30 pm;
• Starting salary: $18.00/hour, with salary progression based on experience and seniority;
• Collective insurance with 60% employer contribution;
• 5 paid personal days per year in addition to regular holidays;
• 2 weeks of annual vacation;
• Stable work environment and training provided.
