Senior Copywriter, Canada
Retail & hospitalityDescription
ABOUT THE TEAM
DoorDash's mission is to support and grow local economies. Through intelligent last-mile delivery technology, DoorDash connects consumers with nearby businesses that matter to them — contributing to the growth of businesses and communities that support them.
To advance this mission, DoorDash continues to develop its award-winning creative studio, Superette. Our team is made up of diverse and creative talents who inspire and innovate. We take risks, question ourselves, and push the boundaries of creativity. Our goal: to create work that we, our partners, and the entire DoorDash community can be proud of.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Copywriter to contribute to defining how DoorDash communicates in the Canadian market, both from a brand and performance perspective.
In this role, you will develop performance-driven messages that support acquisition, engagement, and retention, while contributing to brand storytelling and campaigns. You will work closely with Growth, Marketing, Design, and Brand teams to design and optimize content across various channels — from paid media and CRM to in-app experiences and campaigns.
You will write, adapt, and design content in both English and French, ensuring that ideas resonate naturally with each audience. This includes performance content, brand campaigns, and transcription — with a constant focus on clarity, cultural nuance, and impact.
This is a highly operational role with a direct impact on creative quality and business results. You will contribute to evolving approaches that work, structuring content systems, and defining how DoorDash communicates in Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design performance-driven content for Canada, both for the brand and growth touchpoints, to improve acquisition efficiency and overall impact
- Ensure consistency and evolution of DoorDash's voice in the Canadian market — guaranteeing clarity, consistency, and cultural relevance in both English and French
- Collaborate closely with Growth, Marketing, Design, and Brand teams to accelerate production and testing cycles in a bilingual environment
- Create, test, and optimize content across various channels — including paid social media, email, push notifications, display, in-app, and brand campaigns
- Transform data, insights, and briefs into clear and effective messages, balancing performance and brand image
- Identify, evolve, and amplify the most effective content to improve CPA and campaign results
- Contribute to campaign design and brand storytelling, beyond strictly performance-focused needs
- Develop bilingual campaigns in English and French, ensuring each version is natural and adapted
- Create original content in both languages — avoiding direct translation and adapting ideas to cultural context
- Support transcription and localization efforts across all campaigns and product surfaces
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure message consistency and efficiency across all touchpoints
QUALIFICATIONS
- More than 5 years of experience in bilingual writing, with a focus on brand and/or performance marketing
- Demonstrated experience in creating content that generates measurable results (e.g., CPA, CTR, conversion rates)
- Experience with A/B testing and rapid content optimization
- Good understanding of the impact of messages on acquisition, engagement, and customer lifecycle
- Ability to contribute to both performance initiatives and brand projects
- Experience in adapting messages to different formats — from quick tests to large-scale campaigns
- Good understanding of message hierarchy and customer journey across channels
- Ability to balance creativity and data to produce effective and brand-aligned content
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, test-driven environment
BILINGUAL REQUIREMENT
- Proficiency in both French and English (oral and written)
- Ability to write in idiomatic Canadian French — beyond simple translation
- Good understanding of regional nuances in Canada (e.g., Quebec vs. the rest of Canada)
- Ability to adapt tone, style, and cultural references to ensure local relevance
