Deputy Vice President, Operational Instance

Leading investment manager in Quebec, Desjardins Capital is a fund manager of the Desjardins Movement. As a Deputy Vice President, Operational Instance, you are responsible for validating investment, reinvestment, or operational change requests up to the limits established by the investment fund's decision-making process. Under the supervision of the Vice President, Strategies and Operations, you will also play a supporting role to the investment teams to assist priority portfolio companies in their growth strategy reflections. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Participate in team positions for investment and reinvestment files of more than $2M
• Following authorization of the investment or reinvestment file by the strategic instance, ensure that the due diligence verification plans are adequate for the files
• Validate the final investment or reinvestment decision in connection with the strategic authorization and the conclusions of the due diligence verification
• Authorize disbursement requisitions and validate that the preconditions for investment or reinvestment have been met
• Validate and/or authorize transaction change notices
• When required, validate and sign the legal documentation or any document necessary to implement the decision
• Perform certain controls to ensure compliance with the framework, investment decision-making process, conflicts of interest, admissibility, and compliance of investment activities
• Serve as an advisory role to the investment, in the application of best business practices
• Participate transversally in our approach to support increasing the valuation of investments in partner companies
• Participate in any other project or activity related to the field of expertise

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant discipline in the finance field
• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including at least four years of relevant experience in corporate financing and portfolio management with an investment fund manager or investment fund. Having managed a portfolio of a minimum size of $30M for two years
• Please note that other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered
• Advanced French both orally and in writing
• Enhanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 desktop and online versions (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot (in a professional context)
