Your responsibilities as a Bakery Assistant

  • Receive and count merchandise destined for sale, such as bread, pastries, and any other products sold by your department, ordered by the department manager or assistant manager, and ensure they are properly set up in the warehouse, refrigerator, or any other assigned storage area;
  • Prepare bakery products, package, label, and display them according to department rules for products intended for sale;
  • Perform price changes on displays and, if necessary, on products in your department;
  • If necessary, perform merchandise rotation on displays and keep work areas clean;
  • Be responsible for customer service in your department;
  • Comply with government health standards;
  • Wear required safety equipment;
  • Clean work areas and keep sales surfaces clean, such as counters, displays, etc.;
  • Perform any other tasks as required by your immediate supervisor.
