Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Welder-Assembler Operator is responsible for programming, preparing parts for welding, assembly, and other related tasks.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read assembly drawings and quotes for welding;
- Operate the spot welder, bender, and other automated machines;
- Prepare steel parts and assemblies for welding;
- Follow work standards and methods;
- Perform quality control of welds;
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and deadlines;
- Follow safety standards;
- Gather relevant information from work orders;
- Perform required mechanical and electrical assemblies, according to instructions;
- Assemble and mount the final product;
- Conduct tests to validate product functionality;
- Perform any other tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Trade school diploma in welding or relevant work experience;
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role;
- Experience with a spot welder, an asset (or training will be provided);
- Proficiency in MIG welding on steel, an asset;
- Knowledge of imperial and metric systems;
- Ability to regularly handle heavy loads;
- Capable of lifting weights of approximately 50lb;
- Forklift license (or training will be provided);
- Autonomy and versatility.
