THE ROLE

As a retail consultant for the electronics and home goods department, you will provide retail services to a specific clientele – members of the Canadian Armed Forces. This way, you will help your community. You will organize the electronics, computer, appliance, and furniture sections, and provide technical and professional advice on sales and products offered. You will maintain stock control, recommend the purchase of new merchandise, and prepare purchase orders. You will handle repairs and ensure their follow-up, and collaborate on advertising program development.

The role holder may also be called upon to provide various other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery, self-service gas station, and postal services. You will use the point-of-sale system and debit/credit card terminal, and maintain a cash register.

This is an on-site position where the employee must work at an assigned location.

With its offer of items ranging from specialized tactical equipment to mess uniforms and common food products, CANEX is a unique retail store that is part of the daily lives of our troops and their families. The division operates 35 retail stores, gas stations, and grocery stores across Canada, in bases, squadrons, and units, and two stores in Europe under the NATEX brand.
