Your Role on the Team

We are looking for an Environmental Cartography and Geomatics Professional for our Quebec office. In this role, you will play a key part in the completion of environmental impact studies and authorization requests. You will not only produce maps but also enhance data into true visual decision-making tools for our clients and partners.

You will intervene as a spatial representation specialist, in close collaboration with our biologists, environmental professionals, and forest engineers.

*We offer a hybrid work mode (2 days/week in the office), giving you the possibility to work remotely from your home and from one of our CIMA+ offices (Quebec, Lévis, Rimouski, Rivière-du-Loup, Montreal, Laval, Gatineau, etc.).*

Main Responsibilities: Cartographic Production:

  • Design thematic maps and atlases in accordance with technical standards and specifications
  • Ensure the technical and aesthetic quality of deliverables
  • Data Analysis and Management (GIS):
  • Perform and automate spatial analyses and geoprocessing (SQL queries, conversions, processing chains)
  • Manage and structure geospatial databases to ensure information integrity and reliability
  • Innovation and Field Tools:
  • Deploy and maintain field data collection solutions (ESRI Survey123 and Field Maps), and interactive mapping via ArcGIS Online
  • Plan and carry out surveys or inventories using high-precision GPS or drones
  • Contribute to technological development and innovation in environmental geomatics

Qualifications

  • University or college degree in geomatics or environmental geography
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS, geospatial data acquisition/management, and advanced cartographic production
  • Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS (Pro and Online), QGIS, and data collection applications (ESRI Field Maps and Survey123)
  • Strong skills in spatial database design and management and automation script development (Python or R)
  • Excellent understanding of reference systems, projections, metadata, and data standards
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, or guide less experienced colleagues
  • Recognized skills in communication, technical writing, and client/team communication
  • Valid driver's license and availability for field trips
  • Integrity, team spirit, and commitment to excellence
